Go Xtreme with our Youth Development Staff and enjoy your Fall, Winter and Spring School Breaks! Our trained and caring staff provides age-appropriate games, crafts, activities, field trips and encourages the development of friendships with children from the community. Kidz Club After School ProgramGrades: K - 5th
Our energetic, safety minded and fun Youth Development Staff is here to make certain your child has a great after school experience. Youth will get an opportunity to participate in games, create art projects, work on homework and receive healthy and delicious snacks. Scholarships are available. A new scholarship application is required for each school year. The program does not meet on major holiday or on “Snow Days”. The Program ends Friday, June 11th.

Teen CuisineGrades 9th -12th
Teen Cuisine is a collaborative program between IVGID Parks & Recreation and Project Mana. The first Monday of every month (except January), IHS students will have the opportunity to learn how to cook something delicious afterschool in Room 213. We hope to have a guest chef from a local restaurant each day and the end product will be consumed by students or donated to Project Mana for Thursday distribution. Cost for the program is only $2 each, payable at the door, to cover the cost of raw materials.

Youth Advisory CouncilGrades 7th-12th
The IVGID Youth Advisory Council (YAC) addresses issues of education, employment, recreation, youth development, volunteerism and leadership. They are responsible for programs, events and initiatives that promote positive youth development and involvement in local schools, communities and governments. Students must commit to attending 75% of the monthly meetings and/or events and to participate in at least 6 hours each month of YAC related activities – whether those hours are community service, YAC meetings, a YAC field trip or work on the monthly newsletter.

Girls Night In (Girls ONLY!)

Middle school girls – this is your chance to celebrate being a girl and do some fun, girls-only activities. We will meet at 6:00pm at the Rec Center for pizza and play some fun games. Then, guests from Tahoe Women’s Services and Charles Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy of Truckee Tahoe will present a one-hour class on self-defense. Next, we will pamper ourselves with facials and manicures and learn some tips and tricks for skin and hair care from a salon professional. When the Rec Center closes at 9pm, we will have the whole place to ourselves and go on a crazy scavenger/treasure hunt
Tahoe Tiny Timber’s Gym TimeAges: birth - 5 yrs
Tahoe Tiny Timber’s Gym Time is designed to give children ages birth to 5 years time to socialize and use their gross motor skills. This is an open gym for parents and/or caregivers to play with their children in a physically stimulating environment. We will have the bounce house set up along with other types of equipment and toys to encourage socialization and gross motor skills. Children are encouraged to explore at their own pace and desire. Parents will have opportunities to meet other parents in an informal atmosphere. Parent or caregiver must be present during the entire playtime.

Teen DancesGrades: 6th - 8th
Parks & Recreation sponsors teen dances at the Chateau. We have a great DJ that plays all of the latest music. Appropriate dress and behavior is required to attend our dances. No glow items are allowed. All Incline Middle School, Lake Tahoe school, and Sage Ridge’s 6th - 8th grade students are welcome to attend! More information out soon!

Preschool Dance*Ages: 3 - 5 years
Have a little star at home who loves to dance in front of the mirror? Enroll your child in Preschool Dance! Participants will explore a whole new world of dance through rhythm and music and will be exposed to tap, jazz, ballet and creative movement. This class is a great opportunity for children to socialize with others their own age. Children must be able to participate without parent present.

Hip Hop Dance*Ages: 8-12 years
Learn the latest dance moves! This high energy class is great for those who enjoy the latest urban pop music. Fun and fast paced, this hip hop class emphasizes rhythm and isolated movements. Dancers will learn steps, patterns, and routines. This class is a great upbeat way to exercise. Learn how to dance while staying in shape! No experience necessary.

Dance Combo*Ages: 5 - 7 years
This is an introductory dance class for children ages 5-7. The structure of the class is geared to provide a positive environment to learn dance and socialize with new friends. The children will learn about creative movement, dance, rhythm, movement and socialization. Additionally, the students will be exposed to tap, jazz and ballet.

Dance Fusion Class*Ages: 12 - 17
This is an introductory dance class for middle school/high school youth. Participants will be exposed to a variety of different dance forms, such as Jazz, lyrical, modern, and hip hop. This class will be a great way to become well rounded in dance, as well as a great way to meet friends and get a great work out. The class structure is non-intimidating and non-competitive, and a whole lot of fun!
