Preston Field Grand Re-Opening: April 28th!

The Incline Village Parks & Recreation Department is please to announce the completion of the newly remodeled Preston Field

  

Construction Update as of April 18, 2012

The Preston Field Renovation Project was the complete renovation of the existing (3,300 square foot) stadium facility to improve interior and exterior finishes, upgrade fixtures, and improve ADA accessibility. Site improvements included work to the ball field irrigation and field drainage system and TRPA required BMP improvements to the existing parking lot area. New ADA ramps and paths and site stairs were installed to improve access to the existing playground.

Stadium improvements to the exterior included new split-face CMU end walls and CMU wainscot veneer, EIFS finishes over the existing CMU wall surfaces, and a new pedestrian traffic coating placed on the bleacher surfaces. New stairs and railings to the bleacher seating area were installed. New fiberglass windows replaced existing steel sash windows and new metal doors replaced existing. The existing scorer's booth and wind-wall structures were totally replaced with new metal clad steel framed structures. New exterior exit access lighting replaced old inadequate and failing site lighting.

Interior improvements included full demolition and replacement of the concrete floor and replacement of plumbing fixtures and the addition of two private family restrooms. New lighting and power was provided throughout. The two new private toilets were designed with electric heating to provide year-round restroom facilities. New long wearing and durable polyurethane wall paint and epoxy floor finishes were specified throughout the project.

The existing field maintenance garage received an enlarged sectional door, a new roof, and new siding to match the stadium building finishes.

Parking lot improvements included construction of a drainage structure in the existing parking lot, valley gutter work, replacement of asphalt and new stripping. Building site improvements included demolition of existing concrete ramps and reconstruction with pressed pavers set to new ADA accessible slopes. A new ramp set over a retaining wall system provides ADA access to the existing playground.

New landscaped planters were added to the parking lot along with new drip irrigation and planted with perennials, native trees and bushes. The existing ball field received new sprinkler piping and heads in a new layout. A new sand filtration drainage system was installed in the ball field to improve playable conditions. 
Coming this Spring/Summer 2012, Youth Little League and softball players and their families will be enjoying this newly renovated facility.

Construction Update as of November 28, 2011

The Preston Field Renovation Project continues. 

In the interior of the building, work currently focuses on completion of the new interior masonry walls and installation of the above ground utilities.  Upcoming work will include installation of the windows and pouring the interior floor slab.

At the exterior of the building, work currently focuses on final site work and completion of the exterior framing.  The installation of the plaza pavers and pathways is nearing completion along with installation of the new bleacher stairs.  Work is underway on the construction of the new scorer’s booth and wind wall at the top of the stadium bleachers.  Additional exterior work includes final touch-up on the stadium bleacher coating, relocation and installation of drinking fountains, and re-installation of the aluminum site bleachers.

Construction Update as of October 19, 2011 

In the interior of the building, all underground utilities are complete with work currently focusing on completion of the footings for the new interior masonry walls.  Upcoming work will include installation of the new interior masonry walls as well as pouring the interior floor slab.

At the exterior of the building work currently focuses on completion of all site work.  The new parking lot and playground pathways have been paved and all new stormwater BMPs are in service.  Additional work includes completion of all site utilities, site retaining walls and ADA ramps, as well as completion of all site stairs.  Exterior masonry walls are nearing completion as is the new traffic coating for the bleachers.  Upcoming work will include installation of the paver plaza and pathways, finish landscaping, and start of exterior building improvements.

 The Preston Field Renovation Project continues.  Improvements to the ball field irrigation and drainage system are complete and the field has been re-seeded.  Interior work currently focuses on completion of plumbing rough-in and backfill of the utility trenches.  Exterior work currently focuses on completion of the form work in advance of the concrete pour for the new ADA ramp retaining walls.  Additional exterior work includes excavation for the new dug-out entrances and masonry wall footings as well as installation of underground utilities and BMP piping.

Upcoming work on the interior of the building will include completion of electrical rough-in as well as installation of the new secondary power connection.  Outside the building, work will focus on completion of the new ADA ramps and concrete stairs, site utilities and BMPs, as well as backfill and regrading.

The Preston Field Renovation Project continues.  Work currently focuses on utility and footing excavation on-site.  Interior excavation for plumbing and electrical rough-in and new CMU wall footings is nearing completion and exterior utility and footings excavation is underway. Additional work includes surface preparation of the bleacher area for the new water-proof traffic coating.  In the ball field, work focuses on installation of the new drainage and irrigation piping.

Upcoming work on the interior of the building will include completion of utility rough-in.  Outside the building, work will focus on installation of the new ADA ramps and concrete stairs as well as completion of the field drainage and irrigation improvements.

The Preston Field Renovation Project continues.  Work continues to focus on interior and exterior demolition of the stadium facility.  All interior concrete has been demolished and the floors are being excavated and prepped for utility rough-in.  On the exterior of the building, the existing bleacher/roof coating is being removed in preparation for the new waterproof traffic coating.  Additionally, demolition of the steel stairs to the bleachers, wood stairs to the playground, and the concrete ramps and plaza are nearing completion.  In the ball field, all trenching for the irrigation and drainage improvements are complete.

Upcoming work on the interior of the building will include completion of utility rough-in and coordination with NV Energy for relocation of the incoming power feed.  Outside the building, work will focus on installation of the field drainage and irrigation improvements as well as starting exterior utility trenching.

The Preston Field Renovation Project is underway.  Work currently focuses on interior and exterior demolition of the stadium facility.  All soft interior walls, finishes, and fixtures have been removed and work to demolish the interior concrete floor is progressing.  On the exterior of the building, the T-111 siding, wind walls, and Scorer’s Booth have been completely demolished and the bleacher seating have been removed and stored for re-use.  Additional site work, includes installation of temporary BMPs and trenching for the new field drainage and irrigation improvements

Upon completion of interior demolition, work on the stadium will focus on plumbing and electrical trenching and rough-in.  Outside the building, work will focus on completion of the field drainage and irrigation improvements as well as starting demolition of exterior concrete slabs.
